Geegpay By Raenest June Roundup

Can life actually be soft? (asking as an African).

These days, more people are starting to think about what it really means to live a softer life. It's becoming something to reach for, not just as a nice idea but as a real and personal goal. A way to feel more at ease, more in control, and less worn out by the pace of things.

But soft life doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. For one person, it's being able to buy something small without worrying about the impact on their entire budget. For someone else, it's not needing to ask for help this month. For another, it's making a decision and not going back and forth about it five times. (Read as a creative working with a tight deadline).

In all of this, what I've come to find is that the idea of a soft life is shaped by experience. It's about what you're trying to protect yourself from. Some people are trying to avoid burnout. Some are trying to move past instability. Some are trying to feel less anxious or less behind. What feels like comfort to one person might feel like the bare minimum to someone else, and that's completely fine. Everyone’s version is valid. Now to you. What does soft life mean to you? While you ponder that, here are a few things we worked on this month to help make life a little softer for you.

One thing we heard often was that our users wanted more flexibility with their cards. So this month, we made it happen. We increased card limits across the board to give you more space to plan, spend, and move freely. Here’s what it looks like now:

  • KYC 1 users can spend up to $7,000 daily and $21,000 monthly
  • KYC 2 users can spend up to $10,000 daily and $25,000 monthly
  • KYC 3 users can spend up to $12,000 daily and $36,000 monthly
  • KYC 4 users can spend up to $15,000 daily and $45,000 monthly
  • And finally, KYC level 5 users can spend up to $20,000 daily and $60,000 monthly

Your new limit is live. Log in to your account to check it out, fund your card from any of your Geegpay wallets and start using it. Remember, you can use your Geegpay card to pay UK school fees through Flywire, book your next trip, or manage all your subscriptions, including Apple, Spotify and Meta. If you don’t have a geegpay account, click here to create yours.

If you’ve been feeling like airtime and data don’t last as long as they used to, you’re not imagining things. Prices are rising across networks, and everyday costs are starting to pile up. Between electricity units, cable subscriptions, and top-ups that disappear too quickly, the essentials are demanding more. So this month, we introduced something to ease the pressure.

You can now get up to 5% off every time you pay for airtime, data, electricity, or cable TV through your Geegpay account. The discount applies automatically. Just log in, make your payment, and see the savings before you pay. You’re welcome😉. For more details, click here to read our terms and conditions.

Some users have already made over $150 just by telling their friends about Geegpay. You get $4 for every person you refer, and they get $2 when they join. It’s simple, and it’s working.

To find your referral code, open your Geegpay app and log in. Tap “Earn $152” at the top of your profile, scroll to see your link, then copy or share it directly. Want to learn more about Referrals and everything you need to be eligible? Click here.

What happens when ambition gets in the same room with itself? Maybe something shifts. Maybe something starts. Well, by now you know we always do more than you expect. In that spirit, we’re working on something new. It’s called Raenest Exchange. A space that brings people together and sets ideas in motion. If you’re building, thinking, creating or just paying attention, this is for you. Mark your calendar for October 9. That’s all we’ll say for now.

This month on Geegpay Diaries, we sat down with Hajara Garba, who’s figured out how to turn TikTok into more than just a scroll break. She shared what it really takes to start earning from your content, the mistakes to avoid, and how to treat your page like a business, not just a hobby. If this is something you have been looking to get into, you should definitely read the dairy session.

We also hosted a live webinar with OmoAlhaja, Founder of Skill Africa and a leading voice in tech advocacy across Africa, on how to navigate the gig economy and attract high-paying clients. We covered everything from negotiating rates to finding the right platforms, and even how to position yourself so clients see your value before you speak. If you missed it, the replay is still available. Definitely one to catch if you’re figuring out how to earn more without burning out.

As usual, we updated our blog with more resources to help you do more with your money and transact globally with ease. From How to Send EUR to Rabobank in the Netherlands Through Geegpay From Nigeria to How to Send EUR to BNP Paribas in France Through Geegpay, you can find everything here. If you have a few minutes before we continue, we’d like your thoughts on our content. What would you like to see, and what do you think we can do better? Click here to fill the quick survey. We promise it’s quick.

Beyond the tools, perks, and content, Raenest is powered by real people who care deeply about the work we do and the people we build for. This month, a few of our team members shared their stories. What brought them here, what keeps them going, and what it really feels like to work at a company like this. If you’ve ever been curious about the people behind the product, this is a good place to start. You can read their stories here.

Still on highlighting the people and purpose behind why we do what we do, this month came with something special. Peace Itimi and the Founders Connect team released a full documentary on Raenest, and it captured everything.

From how it all started, to what’s changed, to what still drives us today, the story was told through the voices of the founders, the team, and the people who use what we’ve built. It’s honest, personal, and full of the kind of moments that remind you what this journey is really about. If you haven’t watched it yet, please take a few minutes to do so.

If watching the documentary made something click, or if you saw yourself in the story and thought this is the kind of work you’d want to be part of, we’re hiring.

Raenest is evolving. We’re building, learning, and figuring things out together. And we’re looking for people who care about creating things that matter. People who ask good questions, solve problems with heart and want to grow with others doing the same. If that sounds like you, take a look at our open roles and apply.

After a long month of sending, earning, learning, building, and maybe even soft-lifing a bit, it helps to unplug and reset. If you’re looking for something new to get into, here are a few of Bella’s current favourites. You can use your Geegpay card to pay for your subscriptions across Spotify, Apple, Prime, and more.

June was beautiful, and we hope it was for you too. Until next time, remember to smile and stay grateful for the little things in life.
